I won a lot of 6 micrometers at an auction over the weekend, 4 electronic and 2 analog. One of the electronics (Mitutoyo 0-1") had a corroded battery tab, it just broke off when I tried to clean the corrosion. I proceeded to solder a new copper tab back in and it still would not turn on (with a new SR44 battery). I then took as much of it apart as I could, everything looked OK, so out of desperation I cleaned the contacts between the LCD screen and the board, put it all back together and it worked. It now works like new. Bill
