I used an aluminum casting from a machine I was junking to make this fixture plate. I machined the ribs on the back so it would fit my 6" vice when fully open at 9" Saves setup time. There are assorted threaded inserts left in it. I had to fill two 40mm casting holes with plugs. About 12 X 17" X 20mm thick. tapped 6mm @ 50mm oc. I made a set of 4 strap clamps out of old RR spikes. I left the square drop down on the edge, thinking it might be a useful attachment point some day. If the plate is set directly on the machine table that drop down hangs over the edge. Even the 6mm SHCS are salvaged from the tear down. I've got lots of them. All the holes were power tapped with a spiral tap @ 90rpm.
