Highly recommend building one of these if you haven't allready. Lots of soul and way less complicated than a hit and miss or the like. Here are some pics of my very worn out sucker. It has a lot of time on it amazing grade school kids. It's lubed with graphite, so the cylinder oiler is just for show. The alky lamp was made from an old oiler. The sketches for this were right out of model engineer. There are at least 3 valving methods that I have seen, mine being the shutter design. It's a cool vacuum engine with a good exhaust (or inzhaust) note.

You tube flamesucker to see one run. There is a couple of different arrangements but they all suck their pistons in. If the name throws you off, "flame eater' will get you the same results.
