Free cad programs for a night machinist

Is there any free cadd programs out there to download that were similar to inventor? Ive tried getting inventor but now they ask for credential information to get the student versions

Can you make drawings as well?

Even though it now has some limitations, I still use Fusion 360. It still does the job for me.

Yes. A new limitation is you can not do multi-sheet drawings. You need to have separate files for each drawing sheet. It was nice having multi-sheet capability, but this is new limitation is merely a speed bump.

You can produce drawings in FreeCad from your models. FreeCad developers have been putting some effort into this. There are quite a lot of FreeCad Tutorials on YouTube which help get you started. If it is just 2D you want try QCad, its community edition is free.
