I just spent a month learning to design in Fusion 360. Great product for design.

I just skimmed through the CAM section but did not see a capability I will really need. The ability goes by different names. At the gcode level its G41 G42 cutter comp, or it can be called tool wear, or tool offsets. This allows you to change tool diameters at the machine to make fine adjustments in critical part dimensions.

Does Fusion do this? Could you point me to the right spot to learn more about it?

As far as I know, cutter comp is applied by the controller at the machine. If you wanted to do the same thing at the CAM level, you can either change the diameter of the tool when you generate the tool path (ie instead of .375" end mill, make it a .374" end mill, and it will remove an extra .0005") or you can adjust the radial stock to leave, either negative to make the dimension smaller or positive to make it larger.

From memory (which is failing rapidly with birthdays) so this might not be entirely accurate;
Compensation options are in the PASSES tab of the operation (2D Contour, Fillet, etc.). I think it is only available in finishing passes and with operations that have finishing passes. There are 3 or 4 options within the "Compensation Type" box (whichis in the "Passes" tab), including passing parameters to G41 & G42.

That's it. I've never used it, just know it is there.

Might try looking through Saunders Machine here; https://www.nyccnc.com/
He seems to be putting together a pretty good web site for cnc & Fusion 360 info.

Don't remember Lars talking about that but if you haven't looked at these watch em all! https://www.youtube.com/user/cadcamstuff/playlists

Another site with a lot of cnc/fusion stuff; http://academy.titansofcnc.com/

A hint, when getting help from Autodesk a lot of times it will have a video but won't let you watch it in full screen (and some of them are hard to see even then). Look above the vid and there is usually a link that says something about going to the original post. Click on that link and you will be able to watch the vid full screen.
