GIB Straightening Machine

I thought I would show you a sweet little gib straightening machine they have at DLA Mechanicsburg. You check the gib on a surface plate with feeler gages and then bend it on the screw press. I use something similar - 2 same size steel blocks sittting on a steel table or cast iron table and I use a C- Clamp to bend te gib. Use the indicator too, to tighten and release and watching the indicator until the gib bends the feeler gage amount.

I've straightened slightly bent hydraulic cylinder rods using a hydraulic press the same way.

Edit: There is a lot of spring-back, so the indicator needs enough travel!
