[Antique] Great Old Vise That Will Replace The Existing Cheap And Weak Vise

Thanks for sharing that Boley vise picture. I hope you can talk the owner into selling you that one. I've always liked that reverse dynamic jaw style. Please share more pictures if you can.
 
He know that it a "Rolls Royce" vise so I don't think a can get it. I offered 300 dollars today but he has got it from a friend and feels he cannot sell it. It is a huge beast, 126 pounds ( 57 kg).
 
That is a nice vise, and so is Boley! I am cleaning up an (only) 75 pound Rock Island 254 vise right now. I found what I'm assuming is the build date stamped on top of the slide - 9 43. Hopefully it will be good for another 72 years after cleaning, a fresh coat of paint and a new jaw.
 
Please don't fancifie your vises, good friends----if you need to square the jaws, go
to it, file off the upsets, and clean it up neat.........
