Grizzly G0602 Belt Drive Speed Reducer

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but I've been pretty busy with work and projects. Here is a list of the pulleys, belts and bearings I used for the speeds on the chart. I just made a 1/2" shaft out of some cold rolled I had around and milled a flat on it (no keyway). I made the sides and inside clamping screw block out of 3/4" and the bottom out of 1/2" 6061 aluminum (what I had). This system provides 3 lower spindle speeds, use the chart to see where everything goes. Your's may be slightly different due to mfr. tolerances. You may not even need all three speeds to reduce time & materials cost.

That is a great idea!

And excellent execution.

I just bought a Grizzly G0516. If I find it's too fast, I'll be copying your mod.

I really like this mod. I have two friends with G0602 lathes and I have the G9972. Could be a group build.
I am especially interested in the very low speed version but I am having a hard time figuring out how you get back pulley over so it is not
in line with the main drive pulley. Did you move the motor and idler pulley over by one pulley width?
