Greetings,
I have come upon the use of a Hardinge dividing head and am interested in doing some cleaning and maintenance and am wondering if anyone has a source for a manual showing an exploded view this fine little tool. The spindle movement is a little rough and I am hoping to disassemble it and clean and grease the bearings and clean and grease the worm, etc.

My first project for this is to make a calibrated dial with 100 divisions for a small horizontal mill. The ratio for this head is 4 to 1 and there is no hole pattern that will allow me divide a circle into 100 divisions. I am contemplating making a plate with 25 holes that will fit the head. This should allow mw to create the 100 divisions.
Thanks for any info and for any suggestions.
David

Replying to an older thread...

If you have the full set of Plates that came with your dividing head you would use the 75 hole circle. 1/100 would be 3 holes.

The early dividing heads came w/ a 4 plate set. The later heads came w/ a 7 plate set.
