I've got a 2 1/4 dia by 14 inch long piece of hastelloy c-276 that was given to me long ago. Nothing I make needs to be made of this. If someone needs this I'll trade it for an equal value of 4140 or 8620, thick bar stock (over 2 1/2 inches) or large round pieces. I was going to practice on it but when I looked it up and saw it's properties and cost, my work would have been wasteful.

That is some nasty stuff ! Tougher than a $2 steak .

But cost like a prime rib. It's chemical resistance qualities are supposed to be the best. Just thought someone may need a chunk.

Absolutely ! Hastelloy , Monel , Inconel , Neatro , etc . Very expensive but good material . :encourage:

K- Monel was the choice for salt water pump shafts when I was in the Navy
and it was some tough s^^%t to machine, there was some other stuff we used
that was need to know to us that was even worse ........

I used to make sub shafts for the Nukes . All Monel .

I got this when a chemical plant closed down along with roll around chairs for my deer blinds. I wish I would have loaded up on more of their "scrap".

That's some very expensive material. Were I used to work we bought a 20 foot schd 40 3" dia pipe, $10,000.00 on a good day. Don't give it away

Most of the time that type of material has to have certs or it’s not worth much.
