Okay I got the new wire.
The pic above showing that hot spot melted the ceramic plate. When I pulled the plate out it broke the brick behind the plate. So I think my plan will be to just buy new bricks and dremel/grind a slot for the new wire. I will not replace the thin ceramic plates unless someone thinks otherwise. Let me know.

Update on my oven. I ended up taking all the bricks out of my oven. There seems to be a few different types of brick/insulation. So the heating elements where in a thin ceramic type plate. Then you have what I would call a normal hard fire brick. The next was a sort of soft semi hard dusty type material. The front bricks by the door had been cemented in place so I think I will just leave them alone. I'm going to give this thing a rebuild and rewire it properly.
