Heavy 10 Apron Screw?

I already posted my new to me lathe. My problem is when I took it apart to get it home this screw in the apron wouldn't come out. It moves about 1/4 turn then starts to get real tight and acts like something is stopping it. Rather than force it I waited to find out if there is something I am doing wrong? I don't want to brake anything. Thanks

Something is jamming it. It's just a simple cheese head screw. Put on some penetrating oil. Use an impact wrench WITH THE CORRECT SIZED SLOT BIT to overcome the jam.

Well I got it out. I put the other one back in then kept working it back and forth. I was actually lucky because the problem was it was bent. Someone must have hit it real hard at some point. Well it is like 66 years old, (1952)
