HF Jack Stands - Safety Recall

I wasn't offered a choice. Now I'm glad I took the card. Sad to say, HF's quality control has been lacking. I have two 3 ton jack stands from them about 8 years ago that had terrible welding. Cold surface welds with grossly inadequate penetration. I popped off the welds with a chisel. Used my MIG welder to weld them up. Also added little foot pads to prevent the jack stands from sinking into the driveway. Do I trust them? Mmm, not really, but in conjunction with other devices, they are ok. But after experiencing a bad pawl, I'll test them before use.
