This little mill is heading to a new home soon, so I thought I should post some photos before it's gone. Made by Holland in Fitchburg, Mass probably in the 1939-1940-something range. It's a very compact layout and a heavy machine for it's size. The upper section is a massive L shaped casting.
Brown & Sharpe #7 taper.
Quill 2.5" diameter - extends about 2.75
The head rotates left or right up to 90 degrees
Table is 26" x 8" x 3" thick
X: 14 1/2" travel
Y: 8" travel
Z: spindle to table minimum 2 1/4", maximum 11 1/4"
Lead screws have opposable nuts to remove backlash
Speeds are: 200, 300, 400, 500; 600, 900, 1200, 1500; 1650, 2450, 3300, 4375
The upper pulleys give 4 speeds from the motor. The lower pulleys change between the three speed ranges.
Single phase 1/3 hp reversible motor - currently running on 115 can also run on 230.
Estimated weight is 1100 lbs +/-
