This is my first attempt to make a hamster wheel for my CoCo.
I think nobody has done this lol
well i will give it a go!
hehe

Column material: AL6065-T6
Base: S45C carbon steel (for weight)
didn't have enough time, couldn't finish all the parts in one go.
too bad,,,

my plan: hamster wheel with spindle + dual preload bearing
make it as accurate as possible!

As they say, if it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing.

I love it. Nice work.

You are a sick, and twisted human being. Wish I'd thought of it. Can't wait for the thrilling conclusion, with hyper hamster footage. Cheers, Mike

I put a rev counter on my hamster's wheel one night and it worked out to 4 miles in one night- amazing

Very nice design! Just be cautious about the possibility of hamster whiz causing electrolytic corrosion between the steel and aluminum. I don't think the hamster would gnaw on the acrylic. But I've had gerbils totally destroy a plastic hamster wheel 'way back when.

and a tiny generator for a light so he can exercise at night
Or, just a generator with a dummy load resistor. After all, you don't want the motion to
go totally into runaway, like a treadmill-trap that requires a spotter for
safe operation. A hamster could want to go slow sometimes, but rarely wants to
loop-the-loop. A simple magnet applied to the disk (assuming it's not ferromagnetic)
would apply some braking.
