If you posted pictures hopefully someone with some actual knowledge (that would not be me) could help you out. I fly by the seat of my pants on such things.

Yes, I looked a Mcmaster. I am having trouble with the piston. Don't know if it is in two pieces or one. it has four small holes on either side as though they could be for a spanner wrench. I have tried to see if it unscrews, but don't want to damage it and then have to make a new one. Just didn't want to cut the seal off and then find out I have something unavailable. HF , JET, and Grizzly only offer a new cylinder for big bucks. It is difficult to get a measurement with the seal in place.

Not sure if this will be of any help. Check out the Jet 7”x12” manual. There is a page on the hydraulic cylinder
