This may seem obvious, but these things aren't steel. I was there the morning in 1959 when Larry discovered that it hadn't been a good idea to soak the Porsche Carrera crankcase (yup, the one with the roller bearing crank) in the degreasing tank overnight. Not much left exceppt the studs.
I have some pretty resistant crud in places on my mill - probably combination of oil, and mist coolant, and fine swarf. Shop rag and brush didn't do the job, I'm thinking of acetone? What would you guys do?
