Check out this video:

made by someone on the Yahoo 7x12 group.

I want to throw his question out there for anyone with experience with these.

Thanks!

The 7X lathes from HF, Homier and others are all quite capable of quite accurate work. All of them come from the factory in need of some TLC to improve out of the box performance, but with a minimum investement in time and material these units can and do produce some very precise small works of art. The 7X gang and Mert have developed almost a cult following for the 7X/8X series and have made some pretty signifigant improvements and upgrades along the way. They are definately worth what the asking prices are, especially when you can get a 20 or more percent off coupon or free shipping. I have had my 7X10 (HF #93212) home for just over a year and continue to be amazed every time I start or finish a new project. FWIW, thats my .02
