I'd say power shaper Penn woodworking sells cutters if I remember . It's probably a pretty good machine with power to spin 4" or better cutters. Might have an option on the spindle to take collets also. But we need more info and pictures.
 
if it is a Sears/Craftsman there should be a MODEL/Serial Number Plate somewhere on the machine.
They are rarely removed.

There will be a Number something like 113.######### or 325.########
Google that Number and you will usually find the machine Manual on-line.
 
From what you describe, it sounds like a spindle shaper that uses 2 seperate knives, held on the spindle with 2 grooved clamp washers. Typically the spindle shaft is 1/2" where the knives clamp and the retainer nut is 1/2"-20.
