I have to move my 1236

Well, we used a risky process. there's a window at the top of the stairs. we mounted the lathe to a dolly and used a long strap attached thru the window to a truck to help bring it up. Crazy, but worked like a charm.

I did similar but I used a 50 foot 3/8 steel cable (that I use for vehicle recovery) through the window and then had an engine hoist with a snatch block to keep the cable off the window sill. This way I do not damage the cable or the window sill.

Hi @MikeWi

Well my Wife and temptation for an upgrade convinced me to sell the lathe.
I just saw your thread. Did you make it to Pgh? Did you purchase a new lathe? I have the PM1440GT.
I'm in Pgh and always glad to see another HM near by. I'm in Squirrel Hill.

I was near you for a year, but now I'm in West Virginia. Still not that far though.
