I used to have to use six footers at work, you have to put a piece of 2x4 under the far end to support the weight while you dial in the moveable jaw for a reading. They look a lot cooler than they are to use.

Yeah I can imagine it being a bit faffy to use, but still even in a frame on the wall it would be nice.

Definitely would be better with a helper
