In followup for our viewers: Another good answer is the float test. PP should float while ABS should sink.
 
Interesting that you should mention a float test. When I worked for Ray O Vac in the seventies, I was charged with the task of determining the density of a thin plastic sheet that we used in manufacturing the battery for the Polaroid SX70 camera. Measuring area and thickness to determine volume and then weighing the specimen wasn't working because of variations on the thickness of the sheet.

What I came up with was to cut a sample into tiny sheets and place them in solutions of varying density. If the samples floated, they were less dense than the solution and if they sank, they were more dense. I made the differing solutions be adding salt to water and the denisty of the solution could be precisely measured with a hydrometer. It was possible to determine the density of the sheet to three decimal places.
 
RJ- that is super clever.
I looked and I cannot find Vespel in white. It is naturally brown.
I will attempt a density measurement for fun!
