Hi Mike. I agree with the other fellas. I have some tools from CDCO, some are good some are not so good. Hard to tell in advance from a mail order catalog. I don't have the specific tools you mention. Some I have read that their toolpost sets are OK. Let us know how it works out for you. Good Luck.


they stated is that the inserts only have 2 cutting edges compared to the 3 of the triangle inserts....
Does anyone have any of this particular tool, or have a tool that uses the CCMT / CCGT inserts?

As far as CCMT inserts, they are pretty handy. The geometry lets you use the one tool for turning and for facing. The triangle inserts will cut best only one direction, turning OR facing, depending on design. The other way only minimal cuts.
I have some CCMT holders made to use the oblique (100 degree) corners. These are available from MSC. I have to switch tools for facing and turning, and they don't go to a shoulder but I get used inserts for free.
