This would actually be a pretty cool project: comes with lots of collets and 0nly $300.00.

Looks like a secondary lathe, or a Hand Screw Machine

Turret lathe, and with cross slide tooling. Those lathes are good for making multiple parts quickly. They do not have threading or power feeds or feed dials, significant issues with doing custom one off work. Another option is to get a turret and a second operation cross slide and add it to your ordinary lathe. Then you can switch from custom work to production work pretty quickly, have your cake and eat it too. I know that is possible on many Logan lathes, and it is probably possible on some Hardinge, Clausing, and other lathes.

it has an Asian flavor to it, though i do not know what manufacture it is.

Just to be clear, I'm NOT planning on buying it. Just curious about who made it and if anyone recognizes it. I don't need another project right now. :)

I had another look at the CL listing. The motor, which is painted the same as the lathe is a GE. Also, the seller listed the make as "ABG". A google search yielded pictures of one, very large
lathe from the 50's labeled an ABG... in Poland.
