Interesting little motor

Lots of Atlas lathes use 1/2 hp motors. But the motor shaft would need to be standard 1/2" or 5/8" and long enough to fit a pulley

I found this photo of the same motor while searching about it the other day. Looks like the shaft would be long enough for a pulley if you removed the gear reducer. The motor housing is drilled/tapped for a base so a guy could build something to mount it pretty easy.
My friend is going to stop by later this morning and may be interested in it. Might trade with him for something else I don't need. If he doesn't want it I will sell it.

Edit: ConValSam,
I don't see any markings on the gear box but just guessing at the rpms it spins about a hundred rpm at max speed.

HA! I have at this moment a tread mill motor and all the parts for a speed control sitting on my shelf. My drill press has been all exited for 2 years waiting for this motor!

I go with @Eddyde; possible uses are x axis power feed on a mill/drill or a power down feed on a similar mill.
