If you found a location that will cut the correct thread, the heat is off. I will attempt to duplicate your question (problem?) when I can get the machine uncovered. It sounds like there is confusion with the change gears on the banjo. But remember, my machine is a Grizzly, I have no experience with a Jet as such. Shouldn't make a difference, but may well.
