Some time back, I got a steal deal on an non-operative Kao Ming Tool and Cutter Grinder. It's about thirty years old and seems solid, well designed and constructed.
The problems were just caused by neglect. The chip tray was full of cemented grinder grit and the X-axis traverse was also cemented in. Complete disassembly, sandblast cleaning and it was good to go.
I've never done much real profile cutter grinding and could use the manual for this one (yeah, unlikely to happen; I asked Kao Ming and they said they'd cleaned out everything pertaining to it twenty years ago.) or a good general reference. Maybe even a manual for a Cincinatti or other tool grinder might help.
What suggestions can you offer to someone just getting started on tool grinding?
