Left/Right threaded rod available anywere?

They do not sell retail anylonger. Only to contracted companies as vending machine restocking.
I just checked out Fastenal's website. As a guest, it allowed me to fill my cart with the needed items, and I got to the payment page without problems. I had the option of picking up the needed items from my local store. I'm relieved as Fastenal has always been one of my go-to places, although it's been years since I've been in one. I wonder if it's just an issue with your local store.

I have some on order right now. It might be a while before they get here due to the uncertainty with tariffs and customs (their words, not mine).
I don't think they will work for the purpose here, though, as they are only M6 and 80mm long.
I checked the local nut and bolt place and they weren't interested unless I ordered 1000 or so.

I found an M8x2mm pitch RH/LH lead screw with brass nuts on Amazon for my cutter grinder project. They have them in various lengths for 3D printers.
Thanks! i ordered some of these. I'm hoping this is the answer. all the other suggestions were things i had tried or found: tie rods don't have enough thread, custom isn't really an option, saw turnbuckles but don't think that would work, Mcmaster doesn't actually have L/R rod for some reason, gave up on fastenal years ago.
There's kits available for carpentry wooden clamps, that include right/left hand
screws, and barrel nuts to fit.
Like this.
this kit looks like a great option! but sold out - poop. Ive actually bought a lot of random but excellent cheap things from taytools over the years

I guess you didn't follow my link?

As a fallback, you could make the 'kit' out of a complete Jorgenson clamp, by deconstructing it.
