Well I buy wd40 and several other things in metal gallon cans. since these things are mass produced most have the same thread. I was really tired of spilling every time I need a small amount so I made a simple lil spout with an old cap. first I drilled a 5/8 hole in the cap. the spout is an inch long and .623 wide with a 1/2 inch hole with a 1/2 inch o ring at the base in a lil groove. the base is .992 with a small chamfer to fit the can opening. finally a piece of 1/2 inch clear tubing I heated for a second then slid on tight. simply put on whatever can you need .works like as champ no more spills or waste 
you could always make the spout longer if you need to use it on something that will eat the vinyl tubing or use different material if it's something that reacts with aluminum hope this helps someone
