Logan 820 Write up #1 - Friction Clutch repair

A heavy weight gear oil, especially one with EP ingredients would be absolutely the last choice that I would make for a apron with friction clutch, Vactra #2 is what I use.

Well....No problems with the oil that currently fills the apron !!! So far.....This Old Iron has run perfectly !!! And yes....I had a cone variable speed clutch on a Drill Press that I did not care for !!! Worked....but had too much vibration...Thanx all !!!

I am under the impression that a VFD cannot be used on a single phase 110V motor and, anyways, the speed change is SO easy, why should I consider this.
I put the below VFD on my Logan 820 and find it quite useful in fine tuning the RPM between pulleys.

KBMA-24DF Black (9534) AC Drives,Nema 1 Inverter,w/RFI

https://www.kb-controls.com/product.sc?productId=176&categoryId=26

And it works for 110 or 230 VAC “Input 115/230 VAC, 50/60 Hz 3Ø Output 230 VAC “

My friction clutch is the one spring type and was missing and I made one use the lathe.
