A hobbyist is selling his 2014 1440E-LB.

He's several hundred miles away from me so I haven't put my hands on the unit.

Can you guys tell me if there have been any changes or major upgrades since 2014?

What would you guys estimate the value would be on a single owner, lightly used machine with DRO, 3&4 jaw Chuck, quick change post and some tool holders?
Basically everything that comes on a machine is still there, in good condition.

Welcome Mario,
That's a good question. What's it worth?
They are on back order from PM. That unit with dro installed including shipping is $6,000. ish
What's it worth? $3,500-$4,000? Not a penny over $4K in my mind
Just saying, my 2 cents worth.

You have a lathe and a mill. Sure it is a bit of a project to make them, but you'd learn a lot and the money you'd spend on purchased gears would end up going to tooling that would have other uses. Making change gears is a great place to start - they are simple straight cut gears, material does not really matter and the center distance is not really critical.

Seriously, with a dividing head and a couple gear cutters (perhaps you need an arbor) - it really isn't a difficult task.
