Very similar but the gear head controls are laid out differently. Another post on this site got me looking at Grizzly lathes and I noticed that the G0709 has the same layout for the thread/feed controls although the spindle controls are different. It makes me wonder if the 0709 really has a forty year old heritage.
I just discovered that my Supermax 1340 is functionally identical to the Harrison M300. The manual for the Harrison even uses the same iconography I see on my lathe. Thanks to Vintage Machinery for archiving these manuals.
