In several videos and schematics for building a rotary phase converters it is shown that a DPST momentary push button switch for engaging an ac contactor and the 3rd leg is used for starting the pony motor. I haven't been able to find a 250V DPST switch with both sets of contacts NO. I've found only DPST switches with 1NO and 1NC available. Can anyone help me find where I can buy a 250V DPST switch with contacts 2NO?
Thanks,
Tony

Allen-Bradley, Square-D, Omron, and lots of other suppliers of industrial switches make what you need. You "assemble" the switch from various components - pushbutton, colored button, label plate, main switch body, and one or more contact blocks. These blocks can be either NO or NC, or as in the photo, one of each on the block. Blocks can be stacked as needed for just about any kind of switch operation.

A possible solution, if nothing else works for you, is to go to eBay and buy two switches with NO contacts (maybe even NO and NC), then disassemble one and stack the second NO contact onto the other switch.

You can buy these through Automation Direct, Mouser, most electrical distributors and eBay. You build switches up with almost any configuration with the various additional switch blocks. You can get guarded and/or lighted in various configurations.

Tony, Make a trip over to Hgr industrial, in Euclid.
You will find everything that you need, and more.
I use AB for all my switches, new ones are expensive.
I also use a separate starting contactor with start capacitor for starting of my RPC setups.
HGR will have all the switches that you will ever need.

I did take hman's advice and purchased an additional set of push button switches. I then piggybacked one set of contacts, back to back with the set on the green start button. Seems that most of these switches are the same regardless of who distributes them from China. Now I have 2 NO and 2NC contacts which will work well for the project.
I also did purchase a DPST relay and will use that for another project.
And Chiptosser, yes HGR is a great place for a guy to shop.

Thank you everyone for your input.
Tony

Hi local Cleveland guys! I'm 10 min down the road from HGR. HGR is a dangerous place for a wallet! Let me know if you need any buttons or switches I have quite a few. I too mostly use AB stuff. I like the 800FP series of 22mm operators.

As stated above the way to do it would be to use a relay and a normal inexpensive DPST switch to power the relay to either open or close depending on what you need. You should be able to find inexpensive SSR (solid state relay) that takes a low voltage switching power supply to turn on the high voltage output. Or you can go with a seperate relay to switch on an AC contactor which is what will be handling the High Power side of the electrical supply. Either will work and should give you many options.
