Got a used lathe that came with a 4 jaw independent chuck and a 3 jaw self centering chuck. The 3 jaw chuck only came with "outside jaws". I want some "inside" jaws for it. The lathe is from the lathe 1970's, made in Taiwan.

The chuck is "Made in England" with the # "6612-1" on the face, and the numbers "016397" on each of the jaws. Searched the web to see if I can ID the chuck. Closest I came was Atlas. Here are some photos, and maybe they will help to find substitute "inside" jaws. The direct thread mount is 1 1/2-8.

Made in England.... Pratt Burnerd would be my guess. Good luck, I’ve been looking for outside jaws For my Pratt Burnerd chuck.

I think I'll need more than good luck. More like needle in a haystack:). Good luck to you as well.

You sure those jaws are not reversible? Line the jaws up with the teeth showing and take a pic.

I don’t think 3-jaw chuck jaws can be reversed because they are curved. 4-jaw chucks don’t have those curves on the scroll teeth. But all of my three jaw chucks have curved teeth. Maybe some aren’t curved but I’m pretty sure my Pratt has curved jaw teeth.

Actually, quite a lot of scroll chucks have reversible jaws, including all of my 3 jaw chucks. Emco, Rohm, Samchully, Yuasa - all have models with reversible jaws. Even my Sherline scroll chucks have them. This keeps the weight and costs down.

I don't think they are reversible. I had previously looked at them hoping that they were reversible; then, I saw they were curved. Thank's for the head's up, mikey.

Show pics anyway, if you would. Not that I don't believe you but I'd like to see what you have.

Reversible ones have football shaped teeth, those are banana, not reversible.

Here you go. Also, note that the opposite end of the jaw is flat.
