Looking out at the horizon...

Here's a couple of pictures my son sent me, these were taken at his southwest property corner and on a side road that borders the property just south of him.

That Bastrop fire is pretty extreme, even by Texas standards. Hope they get it under control soon. Cool front and some rain is forecast for here, so maybe they'll catch a break down there too.

Tony, I lived in that general area for 42 years and just returned home today from a brief visit there beginning this past Sunday. It was heart breaking to see the devastation, so many homes and building were just piles of rubble. The fire stopped 200 yards from my sons place, he rode it out in the middle of his pasture where he took his trackhoe and dug a large depression, placed all his equipment in it, pushed up a berm all around it and had a 1,000 gallon nurse tank full of water. I'm way too old to have the Kahoney's to do that now!
