[How do I?] Make a mag drill variable speed

It may be a brush type, you might see removable brush holders or maybe not. If you see sparking thru the vent slots when it runs then it's brushed

Those controlers are rated for 25amps. If you have one on hand I would give it a shot. At $6, not much to lose. Mike
 
I will pull the plate off today and see what type of room is in the control panel. A friend stop by yesterday and I explained what I was gonna do. He said he had a variable speed model sitting around and he would exchange with me for awhile so I can get this job done I have coming up. I’ll keep you all updated
