Guys,
I acquired these "parts" along with a 6" Atlas 618 parts lathe a while ago. The PO said that it was a milling attachment that he could not figure out. For an Atlas / Craftsman 6" lathe? I dunno, neither did he.

Can you please identify it? What it is and what it machinery it's meant for? Someone has crudely attached a motor-mount platform onto it. At least that's what it looks like to me anyway. Seems to match the 1/4 hp motor base that came with it.

Thank you for your input.

It is home made, the spindle housing is a pipe Tee fitting; no idea what it was for.

It looks like a drill press without a table.

Atlas sold milling attachments for their lathes, including the 618, but they look nothing like what you have.
I wonder if it clamped to the edge of a bed and used as a grinding attachment?

I'd venture a guess, how about a grinder for a small lathe? No stone in sight.

My total guess would be a home-made grinding attachment.....just not sure where/how it attaches to the lathe......
