No machining but I'm so happy with the mod I wanted to share.

Got this cordless fan from my brother for Christmas. Like other cordless fans it can run on a battery or be plugged in. It's fine for my use except I hate that it uses an AC adapter. I especially hate wallwarts! Now I no longer need to carry around an external AC adapter anymore!

This is how it should have been. Most of the cordless fans from other brands have a plug so an extension cord be plugged directly into them. But to be fair this fan came out quite a while ago before most of the others so if they ever update it I'm sure they will follow.

How it is now.

How it used to be.

The modifications. Installed a socket for a non-polarized plug cord. Removed the DC jack from the main PCB. Also had to relocate the PCB. Cut open the wallwart & mounted it inside the fan. There was the perfect amount of room for it as if it was meant to be this way. I used a MW tool to hack a MW tool. :D

Thanks for looking!

Obviously they should have run it by you before putting it into production- great mod! (I dislike wallwarts too)
