I should have copied the listing heading. It said Mitutoyo Dial Indicator and was found on a search for Mitutoyo. There are dozens of these starting at $8.95. on Ebay. Caveat Emptor.

That's actually an insult to Chinese counterfeiters, as some of them are really good at carbon copying items. Me thinks that item was made in Viet Nam....

Didn't Eve on youtube take apart one of these knock off "Mitutoyo " calipers? the one he had was a very good copy , the polypropylene box , the orange color cardboard box with made in Japan clearly printed on, even the certificate looked legit .

Some of the Ebay sellers do actually list the origin. Assuming they are correct Mitetoyo is China, the Miluloyo is Thailand.
