I have a box downstairs worth approximatly 30 grand . 10 Pinewood Derby cars and $29,000 in time and engineering fees . LMAO . Wonder where his " rainspout regatta " set up is .

What a cool thing to do and nice setup! With the death of woodshop in schools where do kids learn to make? And the best way is through a project. Sounds like he was wealthy.

My 40 years of model airplane building helped my younger son put very competitive cars on the pinewood derby track. We had a great time going way beyond necessary getting axles polished, wheels honed, perfect car balance and weight, etc. I think his trophies are 2nd,1st and 1stin his 3 cub scout years.

My boys were way more interested in stylizing the cars, the color of paint, stickers, etc.
