Monarch CK 12"

The meter units are the critical part and compressed air usually doesn't fix them. Can you run slowly enough to check the drip flow with the headstock top off ? Dave

Also note that the upper sight glass is a "drip" indicator, showing that the pump is working. You should see oil dripping out of the tube in the window when the spindle is turning (clutch engaged). It may be only one drop every few seconds. If there is more than residual oil in that window you're definitely too full. Seeing drips doesn't guarantee that all of the lines/bearings are getting oil but at least you know the pump is working.
 
Keith Fenner is also doing a rebuild of his Monarch lathe and has videos of him stripping it completely down and spindle removed he is replacing all the bearings and he talks about the part numbers and so on . He is also in the process of making new packings for the sifting levers and seals for the sigh glasses I think his videos are definitely worth a watch if your going to tear into this machine
