Hope everyone is having a great Saturday.

I was nibbing around on youtube and ran across a video of a guy turning a #3 MT on his machine and he had some type of gear motor running a chain and sprocket that was mounted to his compound feed. I thought this was really cool and would may be of interest to some of you guys.

Someone may have already built on but it's worth sharing I think.

I thought pulling the swarf off with the lathe running with his fingers was not very bright...

Ya! I thought that also. i guess he hasn’t lost enogh blood yet to remind him that is what loooonnng needle nose are for. He needs to increase DOC or feed rate, to break up those chips, maybe RPM if he has more? With that said it is a neat little gadget. I think I have cut like 1 tapper in last 3 years, it is just to cheap to buy MT tapered blanks.
