Mounting vise to table

I just slather way oil on everything with a brush. Helps me sleep at night, especially on those humid, rainy ones.

I suffer from some dry skin, and "dry eye" issues, partially related to my arid environment. I am thankful, tho, that I do not suffer from the "humidity" related issues so prevalent in discussions on this forum. I gladly accept the tradeoff, and offer my condolences to my damp friends;)

Thoughts on white paper between the table and vise?

For the reader intending to use flood coolant, a sheet of paper will aid the capillary action to bring coolant under the vise then accelerate corrosion. To use way oil or light machine oil, the soluble additives to the coolant will eventually erode oil and replace the void with coolant containing water. So the thicker the more reluctant it is for this to occur. For my surface grinder magnetic chuck I use the silica grease between the chuck and the table, and I'm getting sub tenth flatness.
