M friend and I built 3 of these. original plans were in Popular mechanics magazine in mid 1950,s. Reprints available online thru Hearst foundation I beleive. All hardware and stock steel and boston stock spur gears or make your own gears. A fun off and on 2yr project.

That is the traction engine designed by Rudy Kouhoupt. You can also purchase a book with the plans in it from a number of different sources. The book is published by Village Press if I remember correctly.
