I just purchased a Kennedy Machinist Tool Chest at an auction of a Machine Shop, it was partly full of machinist tools, micrometers, etc...much of it older vintage stuff, but still usable for me. One item is a mystery to me. It is a glass disc about 2" in diameter and 1/2" thick. In a nice box which was made to fit it. No markings on the box. The glass has a marking on it, which is the letter R inscribed inside of a circle. And inside of the glass I can see what looks like a piece of lint with a tail like a hair? It is not a lense, or at least it does not appear to magnify. Anyone know what it is? Thanks. Paulyman
