What could be so mysterious about a boring head?

Looks like a Cat 40 or 50 shank boring head, never seen one that small before.. Very cool.

It would not be Cat, it has no retention feature that can be seen, is the back end tapped for a drawbar?

I have a Victoria U2 - the older version of yours. Good machines. Looks like your boring head is for smaller bores. Could be very useful.

Check it out. When you are using the boring head or an endmill holder in the horizontal position, you may have to reverse the motor. That will also mean you have to move the X-axis control lever the opposite way.
