Hi all
Further to the demise of a cq6215 lathe .cost of fixing up or modifying
Better of buying a new lathe
Can anyone tell me what they think about the
TU2506V optimum
Or thoughts also on equipment Size in the
AL series
Both machines available Hare and Forbes Perth
Cannot go any larger due to space available
Thank you
Keiron

G'day, Sorry can't help you on this one, I have no knowledge of this machine, but it sounds like possibly chinese, so be wary. It depends a lot on what you intend to make on it, not just the size, but tolerances, and finish.

Good luck.

I missed what happened to your CQ6125. XIMA did a better job of them than did SEIG. I got a planetary geared pulley that cut the speed in half, Lathemaster had them, making it a useful lathe. Lathemaster is no longer BTW. Mine left when my son moved out. We had gone together buying it, so when he going to move out it was " I'll buy you out. " "No, Dad I'll buy you out." I replaced it with a used DF1224g. There isn't that much difference in floor space, but a huge difference in use. I see a that lot of the new 12" lathes don't look much different than the CQ125. I wonder if they just upped the size. The DF1224g is a Taiwanese generic belt drive ,back geared . Good luck.
