Hello, brand new to the forum and I would like to say hello! I am fairly new to machining and have been trying to "self teach" as much as physically possible. I came across this tool in our old machine shop and it has me extremely curious as to what it is and it's purpose. It's seven inches long, tapered and v grooved down the center on each side. It is also has two pins that look to have been inserted and tapped, one may have been re drilled, judging how it is off centered. Any info is appreciated! Thanks! 15145507599411840193856.jpg15145507871021908181517.jpg

Don't know what it is other than it looks incomplete. Looks like it is only a single part of something bigger.

Oh, and welcome Heathen. Someone here prob'ly knows.

Looks like a part of a slide to a automatic screw machine. Maybe a Swiss type?
