I recently bought a new set of broaches on E Bay from Discount Machine (Shars). They actually had a great deal compared to their catalog price. $209.00 on E Bay, compared to $290.00 in Shars catalog. It’s the number 20 set so you also get the 5/16” broach, that isn’t included in their other sets. The set includes bushings from 1/2” all the way up to 1-9/16”.
I did have a problem when the package arrived as the box was quite damaged. It must have been handled a little rough but I thought maybe it also should have been packaged a little better. I didn’t notify the shipping company but did correspond with Discount Machine and they we very good to work with. They did offer a new case at no charge to me but I turned it down. They were going to work with their shipping department on more secure packaging to help prevent this from occurring in the future.
I am well pleased with the quality of the set and look forward to putting it to use I’m my shop. I did make a new case to replace the original as it made for a nice project in the wood shop. I’ll include a few pictures.
