A couple of weeks ago, as I was on my way home from work, a lady pulled out from a stop sign in front of me and wrecked my Jeep Wrangler. Her insurance adjuster decided the Jeep should be considered a total loss. About a week later, my other vehicle, a 2006 Toyota Tacoma started grinding going into 3rd gear, probably from a worn synchronizer.
So, I took advantage of the situation, and used it as an excuse to buy a new-ish truck...
Its a 2015 Tacoma Double Cab 4x4 with the TRD Offroad package, 4.0 v6, and automatic transmission, with 19,000 miles.
I picked it up Friday afternoon... so far, I really like it. I still have the '06, I'm going to have the 6 speed manual rebuilt in it and it will be my 'daily driver', replacing the Jeep.
